Education

Education is critical to ending the stigma associated with mental illness and suicide. It is important to discuss mental health issues that people may be unaware of,  like the fact that every 40 seconds someone in the world dies by suicide, that men are four times more likely to complete suicide than women, and the fact that worldwide we lose approximately 800,000 people to suicide every year.

There are many forms of education and we work on eradicating youth suicide in many different ways such as: insurance parity and understanding your insurance plan, along with how to file an appeal for denied care, teaching Youth Mental Health First Aid, informing kids and teachers of signs to look for, educating on statistics, helping and supporting parents who have children that struggle with mental illness, and making them aware of signs and symptoms and how to support their child, DNA testing for mental health medications, teleconferencing, parent nights, speaking engagements, trainings, one-one education, advocacy, and many other avenues. Suicide is complex and there is not a one size fits all solution; we help in multiple areas.

Please visit our blog. We look forward to sharing speaking engagements and assemblies with you and others, to educate everyone on mental illness and help to remove the stigma attached to it.
